LLLABO is a platform for research, teaching, and practice, engaging contemporary themes in architecture and urbanism stimulated by its location in central Tokyo. Cosmopolitan, interdisciplinary, critical, and questing, LLLABO seeks to distill the logic and the magic of the Asian metropolis and re-inject it as a shot of adrenaline into the heart of contemporary architectural culture.
LLLABO is directed by Julian Worrall, Associate Professor of Architecture and Urban Studies at the Institute for Advanced Study at Waseda University.
Julian is a qualified architect, and has a PhD in architectural and urban history from the University of Tokyo. He has worked for OMA in Rotterdam and Klein Dytham Architects in Tokyo, and his writings on architecture and urbanism have been widely published and translated.
